Martin Orford, keys and backing vocals sent me their last album. After 15 albums and 4 years from the last one, IQ released one of their best albums ever. Some may say that this is the best Prog album of the year. I just say I DAMN LOVE IT!!! I guess that it’s a return to the complex symphonic prog of their debut ‘Tales From The Lush Attic’. The album has 5 songs, a total time of 52:16. “Sacred Sound” is a long track full of variation showing the quality voice of Peter Nicholls. The last track “Harvest of Souls”, is the longest track ever written by IQ. It starts quiet with an acoustic guitar and the vocals. The second part has a beautiful vocal line, followed by a great speedy instrumental piece. The third part is a quiet vocal piece that ends heavier with some Mellotron sounds. The next piece is introduced by a staccato piano and once again contains a great melody. The track ends with an anthem on guitar. ‘Harvest Of Souls’ should make a good live track.
