We search for metal bands to promote in Romania

Only the best metal music!

Metal Silvae Webzine is currently searching world wide for 20 metal bands to be added free of charge in our first promo CD campaign of this year, that will be launched in late April.
To be considered, bands will have to come from one of these genres: black metal, death metal, heavy metal, doom or gothic metal and have as a requirement:

1. Official MySpace, Facebook, etc. profile/official website

2. to provide one or two high quality mp3s

3. to provide full bio and pictures (jpeg or tiff, 150 DPI, high resolution)

4. to provide (if available) one or two video clips (medium quality) – no more than 100 mb both

5. you’re the legal owner of song proposed and you will sign a contract in which you will grant us the use of the song only for this promo campaign (this is to avoid any nasty copyright troubles)

To get a glimpse of what we are looking for, please read some of our CD reviews and band interviews posted on our blog.

Good luck to everyone who will apply. If you don’t qualify for this campaign there is still hope. We will have another one in late September.

Who are we?

The idea of Metal Silvae Webzine was born in the winter of 2002 in Sibiu, after some beers and discussions with some friends, who felt the need for a new kind of website in the Romanian metal scene.

We are the official spokesman in Romania for Ancient Ceremony and Hrimthurs and starting this year we provide PR services for bands, labels and companies.

Entwine – DiEversity (Spinefarm)

The Finnish gothic metal group Entwine has traveled a long way from their first death metal demo tapes to the present gothic. After two years of waiting, they’ve released this new album, with a very emotional feeling, cool and refreshing sound, nice voice. If you like Gothic without keys, you’ll be disappointed; but the atmosphere created is something special. Nothing was left out. From your first look at the front cover, you’ll guess that it’s a gothic album/band. You can’t get anything better than this!

Martyr – A Malicious Odyssey (Black Owl Records, 2004)

Martyr was established in the year 1997 by Haat (vocals, guitar) and I.N. Enthroned (battery). They wanted to create a form of black metal that was fast and extreme, yet melodic. The main ideology behind the band was to express their misanthropic feelings and to give a reaction on bands that completely broke with the true spirit of black metal… After 7 years of existence and numerous albums and demos, Martyr comes with a new album that can change the world of Black Metal. We find some kind of Fast, Extreme Black Metal mixed with some melodic tunes that transforms everything in a catchy albums just perfect to be listened over and over again. After listening to it I can feel some Satyricon influences. The quality of the album is really high and everything is perfect balanced. It comes in a Digipack, but lacking the lyrics inside. If every band will have this kind of quality and identity, we would be in a perfect world. Now, after listening to a lot of great albums, I’m glad that still exists bands that are blabbering without any vision and cult bands like Martyr. Black Owl Records gave me the chance to listen to another great album released by them, after Emancer. If you want some really good music, check them out. Now, in the end I’ll present Martyr: Haat (vocals, all guitars), Mike (drums), Nomiis (bass).

If you want to e-mail the band: invocator_martyrii@hotmail.com or check their website: www.martyr.nl

Dirty Shirt – Revolution & Different

Dirty Shirt was formed back in 1996, on the skeleton of another band “Eclipse” and after several demos, they hit us again the Romanian music scene with this album. Now they have a new sound, Industrial metal, somewhere between Rammstein, Oomph and Kovenant. The two albums are placed on the same CD, with 11 songs. We find influences starting with electro and ending with metal elements. It’s enough to say that they do a cover after a very well known Romanian song: “Who loves and let it go” and that song never sounded better. And they also made a song after a poem wrote by Mihai Eminescu. Dirty Shirt are: Dan Rini Craciun (vocal), Mihai Tivadar (keyboard), Dani Prikop (guitar), Cristi Balanean (guitar), Pal Novelli (bass), Vlad Toca (drums).

Contact: www.dirtyshirt.home.ro, dirtyshirt@home.ro I really hope that you guys will have the chance to listen to their album. New masters entered the Romanian rock area. So, be afraid. Be very afraid. This is a collectible item.

Our note: 5 out of 5.
